More CSA membership offers on the way

April 24th, 2009 by Martin

We sent out our first round of CSA share offers yesterday and the response has been terrific! Thank you everyone for your enthusiastic support — it’s great to know that there are so many people who share our vision of bringing local grain to Vancouver.

For anyone on our mailing list who hasn’t yet received an offer to purchase a share, don’t despair, more spots will be opening up next week. Not only have we yet to receive a confirmation from some people, but a number of others have decided to forgo their offer and split a share with someone else on the list, meaning more Urban Grains membership opportunities are on their way!

It’s also not too late to sign up if you haven’t already. Simply fill out the form to join our mailing list on our About page and you’ll be added to the CSA wait list.

Hi, (Who should I be addressing?

My friend told me about you. I am interested, as I grind my own wheat with my food processor grain grinding attachment (Braun) (I don’t know if the still make them).

Would it be possible to bypass the grinding process and obtain your cleaned dry whole wheat seeds? If so, I may want to seek a share.
(You can’t get any fresher or save nutrients any better than by grinding on the spot. The whole grains keep as long as I need them, so I don’t have to worry about the germ/vit. E in the flour going rancid, or about finding room in my freezer to slow that process.)

If that’s a possibility, please put me on your email list for now.

    Thanks,
    Pat Y.

PS My brother has farm land in another province. I think I shall tell him about your venture. He may be interested in doing something similar there. It sounds like something he’d be keen on.
